Inter remain undefeated in its last six Serie A derbies in Milan for the first time since 1999

Inter Milan took third place in Serie A over rivals AC Milan after a win in a contested derby.

Matias Vecino shot at close range to give Inter a halftime lead.

Stefan De Vrij nodded to make the score 2-0 before Tiemoue Bakayoko pbaded Samir Handanovic to give hope to Milan.

Lautaro Martinez's goals were 3-1 after Samu Castillejo unleashed Matteo Politano, but Mateo Musacchio's 71rd-minute shot made the Inter nervous.

During this period, the VAR canceled the initial decision of referee Marco Guida to send Andrea Conti from Milan for a tackle on Martinez. The coach of Inter, Luciano Spalletti, protested and was therefore deported.

Inter now has 53 points in 23 games, two points and a place above Milan.
