More than 1,000 bags of 50 kg fertilizer intended for government planting in the food and employment sector, smuggled into neighboring Burkina Faso, were intercepted at the Paga border.
According to the Upper East East Regional Minister, Ms. Paulina Patience Abayage, this arrest follows a report from the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) who was in high alert following a recent report. a similar incident.
It revealed that when the Navrongo police arrived at the scene, the guilty parties removed the PJF stickers from the bags of the Ghana-registered truck before transferring them to the Burkina Faso registered truck.
At the time of the arrest, 350 bags had been transferred to the registered truck in Burkina Faso. [11-HJ2944] and the rest 650 on the truck registered in Ghana [AS 928-13].
"When I went to the police station this morning, the addressee, One Aisha Ibrahim, and the Ghanaian truck driver were in custody and gave their statements.
