The NPP has officially written to the NDC to discuss ways to dissolve the self-defense groups affiliated with them.

This invitation was made necessary not only by the President's appeal made during the State of the Nation address of 2019, but also by the legitimate concerns expressed by many Ghanaians about the threat and by the need for both political parties to do what is necessary in the interest of the government. nation.

The ruling party has proposed that the meeting be held this week at a convenient time and place for the NDC.

Political vigilance, he said, has recently proved successful in Ghana, and among the groups that have wreaked havoc, the Delta Force and the Invisible Forces are affiliated with the NPP.

The NDC official said that vigilantism was a crime and that the police should therefore take care of those who attacked people and destroyed property under the guise of self-defense groups.

The police, he added, do not need a directive from the president or minister of the interior to fulfill his mandate.

He called on the government to go beyond the negotiations and take bold steps to curb the threat.
