Interview with Tron's Director of Communications

It can be argued that TRON is one of the well known blockchain ecosystems that focuses on the entertainment industry. The TRON project, founded by Justin Sun, is making waves, especially since the acquisition of the software company BitTorrent for $ 126 million, with more than 100 million active users in July 2018.

During the interview, Cliff Edwards, director of global communications at the Tron Foundation, shared his insights on Tron 's vision as well as on the "strategic thinking" that fueled the acquisition of BitTorrent.

According to Edwards, although many people say that Tron is following in the footsteps of Ethereum and EOS, the project is more focused on creating a "better mouse trap" than reinventing the wheel.

I will use the vision of Apple. Apple, in many ways, has never really innovated to create something new, but it is always looking for something. Steve Jobs had a great way to do it – look at something and say how can I do it better? He would look at the phone and say look at this phone, how can I do it better? Let us work on that – and they would win. They also won not only because they build better hardware, but also because they had better software and they had a better ecosystem. And if you think about Tron BitTorrent's vision, it's exactly the same, Edwards explained.

Tron seeks to combine utility tokens and blockchain technology behind a solid user base, which will automatically increase the number of people interested in cryptocurrency.

Next BitTorrent Crowdfund sales

With respect to the "ICOs", there is no indication that the term has been dragged into the mud by many projects without a use case or business model, which has resulted in a reduction in the level of confidence in ICO projects.

For this reason, Edward noted that BitTorrent's next BTT token distribution is not an ICO, but a "crowdfunding", powered by Binance Launchpad. The Launchpad is a new Binance Exchange Token Launcher that offers promising and promising blockchain projects the opportunity to raise funds from more than 10 million Binance users in the encrypted space.

The BitTorrent token is one of the first two projects to feature on the new Binance platform. Asked about the type of collaboration between Binance and Tron, Cliff Edwards shared his thoughts:

I think the agreement was reached very quickly. I think you know; Once we sent our detailed vision to Binance, I think they probably had the impression that we had a plan and that they wanted to make sure that a Launchpad would come back well this year. If you read their press release, they say that they will have partners every month. And this leads them to try to say "who are the people who, in their opinion, could have legs?" We also want to show these companies that we are also trying to strengthen the trust and legitimacy of the market.

At the conclusion of the interview, Edward mentioned that Tron's vision this year is to overtake Ethereum and EOS because they are the two closest competitors to what Tron is trying to accomplish. The long-term vision is to hire leading content companies like Amazon, Facebook and Netflix.
