Afraid your team will lose the Super Bowl? Perhaps you have something more serious to fear in the form of #RoboChild, a strange-looking kid born to the world in Sunday's Intuit Super Bowl ad. In advertising, the little guy with a head facing the front and mechanical parts at the back stands near the bed of his sleeping father and wakes him up with a "waking dad".
Judging by the tweets that followed During the advertisement, it seems that RoboChild has not only awakened his father, but also the nightmares of many Super Bowl spectators. The ad, which promotes Intuit QuickTax tax return preparation software with a flash of the product name in the end, is supposed to highlight one of the company's slogans: "Real humans, no robots ".
At least not this robot. "Stop this monstrosity," wrote a Twitter user.
Others had questions about RoboChild's father, especially about why he was sleeping in what appears to be a camp bed in the basement. Maybe it's there that he created RoboChild, or maybe he's missing out on RoboChild's mother.
Intuit is not the first company to feature a robot in its advertisement for the Super Bowl this year. Alongside Bo Jackson and a mermaid, Sprint's place featured a few too.
