The rumors about the iPhone 11 are slowly but surely more concrete. About four months separate us from the presentation of the 2019 generation iPhone and crystallize gradually, which will change the iPhone 11. One of the focus is on the camera system. However, there also appear to be changes in antenna design.

Kuo: iPhone 11 with an improved antenna design

TF Securities badyst Ming Chi Kuo, who has made a name for himself on the Apple scene in recent years, commented on upcoming iPhone models with a new investor rating. Thus, there will be major changes in the design of the antenna. Among other things, we are talking about new suppliers and new technology.

According to Kuo, the 2019 iPhone models will be based on a new, modified IP antenna structure. The first signs of this already existed in November 2018, but Kuo's statements are now becoming more concrete. The iPhone XS, the iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR are "limited" because of the technology of their antenna LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer). Kuo says that there are production issues around the LCP that pose problems for the transmission of higher mobile frequencies.

Modifying the modified IP antenna structure should provide Apple with cost and production advantages. Nevertheless, the cost of antenna design should increase by about 10 to 20%. This is due to Ultra Wideband upgrades. This leads to improvements in inland navigation. Kuo already spoke about it in February.

IPhone 2020 with 5G chip

Also for the iPhone 2020er models, there is a brief statement from the badyst. It is said that Apple will build on the 5G technology of the iPhone generation of the 2020s. At the same time, Apple will return to the LCP antenna design. Just recently, Kuo said that Apple was using the 2020 iPhone on 5G chips from Qualcomm and Samsung. (via 9to5Mac)
