iPhoto – Update brings new map themes and fixes bugs

Apple released iPhoto '11 update 9.1.2 yesterday, introducing new card themes and improving application stability with several bugfixes.

Enhancements to the application include fixes for the zoom slider in the magnified view, a problem that prevented the toolbar from automatically hiding in full-screen mode, and minor formatting issues with themes book, map and calendar.

This update adds new card themes to iPhoto '11. It also improves overall stability and resolves a number of other minor issues, including the following:

• Fixes an issue that prevented the Zoom slider from being accessible in the Maximize view (1).
• Fixes an issue where toolbars do not hide automatically in fullscreen mode
• The search field now correctly executes an "include" search when searching by text string
• Resolves minor formatting issues with book, map, and calendar themes
• The size of email messages is now correctly updated when changes are made using the Photo Size menu.
• Resolved an issue that prevented some iPhoto 5 libraries from upgrading properly.
• Multiple book pages can now be selected by dragging in All Pages mode.
• The design tools in the print project panels are now accessible through separate layout and option buttons.
• Photo backgrounds applied to a book are now retained when the book type is changed.
• The tab key can now be used to browse all the text fields of a book project.

This update is recommended for all iPhoto '11 users.

IPhoto '11 users can get the update through the Software Update, the Apple website, or the Mac App Store.
