Action Chapel International (ACI) General Overseer Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams says it takes faith for someone to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the man of God, despite testing negative 22 times for the deadly contagion, he still continued with the jab.
“… And if you think I don’t have the faith to take the vaccine, you’re kidding me, I have the faith but taking the vaccine is also common sense and it is also wisdom,” said the archbishop in a sermon over the weekend. .
The ICA general supervisor expressed disappointment among some Ghanaians for refusing to be vaccinated due to conspiracies on social media.
It will be recalled that Duncan-Williams was seen wearing two masks during the funeral of the late former President of Ghana, Ft Lt Jerry John Rawlings, at Black Star Square on January 27, 2021.
His unwavering faith in God and the power that resides in prayer had made some people wonder why he was doubly serious about preventing COVID-19.
The much revered man of God revealed that he had received many calls from friends and devotees curious about whether his action had anything to do with divine instruction.
On February 22, 2021, Ghana received 600,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as part of the UN-led COVAX facility.
The AstraZeneca vaccine is authorized by the Serum Institute of India (AZ / SII).
The vaccine arrived at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on an Emirates Airlines cargo, EK787.
He was received by a delegation led by the designated Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu.
Ghana has also signed a shipment of Russian Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine.
The emergency authorization was captured in a press release from the Russian government which states that the Ghanaian government had “granted emergency authorization” of the vaccine.
Ghana has recorded more than 80,000 cases of the virus and more than 5,000 deaths.
