Actress Vidya Balan said that playing the role of the late actress Sridevi on the big screen "would require a lot of courage", but that she is OK to do so, reports the agency's IANS press. Meanwhile, Vidya Balan has a lot of experience in biographical cinema. She played the lead role in The dirty image, which is inspired by the life of South actress Silk Smitha. Recently, she played the role of Nandumuri Basava Ramatarakam in the biopic on NTR.
Sridevi died drowning in the bathtub of a hotel where she was staying in Dubai in February 2018. After the death of the actress, several filmmakers considered making a film about Sridevi. The filmmaker Hansal Mehta (Shahid, Aligarh and Omerta) then told the IANS news agency that if he made a biographical film about Sridevi, he would contact Vidya Balan to play the lead role.
The filmmaker had announced his intention to contact Sridevi for a project but it was too late and added: "I will always regret not approaching her and not being able to make a film with her. will make a movie about her. " The award-winning filmmaker also said: "The film will be shot on Sridevi, there are actors (whom I have in mind), maybe I can approach Vidya Balan, I'll do the film."
Sridevi, the first superstar of the Indian film industry, has starred in 300 films over a five-decade career.
