MILAN (Reuters) – American supermodel Kendall Jenner is being sued by Italian fashion label Liu Jo for allegedly breaching the terms of a modeling contract requiring her to show up for two photoshoots, according to a complaint filed by Liu Jo.
The lawsuit, filed late Monday in Manhattan U.S. District Court, says Jenner only attended the first of two scheduled photoshoots but never showed up for the second, which was originally scheduled to take place in March 2020 but has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Liu Jo is seeking at least $ 1.8 million in damages, according to the complaint.
Liu Jo, who the complaint claims has already paid Jenner $ 1.35 million for services covered by the 2019 contract, said he tried to reschedule the second photoshoot several times but got no response by Jenner. Liu Jo said he was subsequently unsuccessful in getting reimbursed for his payments to the model.
Reuters was unable to immediately contact Jenner, 25, one of the world’s highest-paid models who rose to prominence on the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” reality show.
Its agents, The Society Model Management and parent company Elite World Group, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A PR firm representing Liu Jo was also not immediately available for comment.
