Comedian and satirist, Kwaku Sintim Misa (KSM)
Comedian and satirist, Kwaku Sintim Misa, nicknamed KSM, is derided by the decision of the Pentecost Church to build an ultramodern penitentiary facility to decongest Nsawam Prison.
While he thought it should have been the work of the government, he said that the current administration is instead using to build a national cathedral that has elicited negative reactions from a party Ghanaians.
In a tweet about what may appear to be a conflictual line drawn by both parties, glimpsed by MyNewsGh.com, he said: "The PENTECOST Church" to build a new prison. We must love GH. The government builds a cathedral and the church builds a prison. Only in GH ???????????? "
His tweet is in reaction to a publication last week about the Pentecost church projects to build a new penitentiary center in Nsawam in order to decongest the existing building.
According to the church in a report citinewsroom.com, this gesture is part of the church's efforts to decongest penitentiary institutions across the country.
The facility, known as the Nsawam Prison Camp Facility, is expected to house 300 inmates and provide a training workshop, administrative block, church and recreation facilities.
Pastor James Orhin Agyin, head of succession at Church headquarters, said the project is expected to be completed by January 28, 2020. It will then be dedicated and officially transferred to the Ghana Prison Service.
The Director General of the Ghana Prison Service, Mr. Patrick Darko Missah, thanked the Apostle Eric Nyamekye, President of the Pentecost Church, for his continued support to the prison service, noting that the new facility " is a response to the long-standing challenge of prison overcrowding in Nsawam's medium security prison.
