Ivan Rakitic decides the next club when he leaves Barcelona with the interest of Man Utd

Ivan Rakitic is in favor of a transfer from Juventus to Manchester United this summer.

The Croatian midfielder was linked to a move to Old Trafford after speculation about his future in Barcelona.

Rakitic, 31, does not want to leave Nou and wants to sign a new contract, but Barca is considering replacing him.

United is closely following the situation, but reports from Italy suggest that Rakitic would prefer to travel to Turin this summer.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Rakitic would have signed a contract with the Serie A champions and would have agreed to the change, had he left the Barca.

Rakitic could end up in Barca next season with Frenkie de Jong coming from Ajax.

PSG wanted to sign Rakitic last summer, but despite the refusal of a change, Barca did not offer him a new deal.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu did little to confirm that the player would be at Nou's camp next season, while he was being questioned about his future.

"We want our players to be happy and Rakitic is one of the most important players in Barcelona," he said.

"The manager has a lot of confidence in him.

"However, we must be careful to maintain the right balance of wages and we will see what happens at the end of the season."

Last week's reports suggest that Barca could let up to 11 players leave, including Philippe Coutinho, as part of a summer review.

The Brazilian wants to stay and fight for his place, but transfers could be considered for Samuel Umtiti, Thomas Vermaelen and Malcom, among others.
