Ivy Danqua Adu Ivy Heward Mills, wife of the late MP for Abuakwa North

The wife of the late MP of Abuakwa North, Ivy Heward Mills, sued Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong and eight other people for defamation.

Kennedy Agyapong had alleged that Ivy was in contact with Anas investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw.

The accusations were made before the release of Anas's presentation on corruption in Ghanaian football in July 2018.

These claims were part of the attempts of the deputy of Assin Central to discredit Anas.

Kencity Media, Kennedy Agyapong, Group Limited, Multimedia Group Limited and the EIB Group are also named in the complaint.

Ivy Heward Mills claims 50 million GHC in damages to defendants.

She wishes that they apologize for the defamatory remarks and that they prepare court-approved retractions "which will be published with the same visibility as the defamatory statements and publications on the various sites or stations on which the statements have been published ".

She also wants the retractions to be published in the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times newspapers.

Ivy Heward Mills was widowed when her husband, J.B. Danquah-Adu, was stabbed to death on February 9, 2016 at his Shiashie residence in Accra.

Daniel Asiedu, the main suspect, was arrested two days after the incident.

Another person, Vincent Bosso, was also arrested later in connection with the murder. The badbadination of the former MP shocked many and led to discussions about the safety of lawmakers.

The two suspects were charged with murder and conspiracy for the murder of the deceased MP.
