J. Cole remembers his fans who wanted him to dissolve Drake and alludes to Kanye West's references to "Middle Child"

He seems to be referring to Kanye West's December 2018 Twitter talk about Drake.

J. Cole launches his release schedule for 2019 with his new single, "Middle Child". The song is produced by T-Minus, who has previously worked with Cole on "Kevin's Heart" in 2018, as well as Cole's "Pretty Little Fears", the 6LACK song

At the first verse, Cole tells that his fans want it with Drake:

Just put the roll on my wrist
This watch comes from Drizzy, he's offered me a gift
When the rap game was praying, I
They act as two legends can not coexist

A few lines later, he seems to be referring to the recent Twitter quarrel between Kanye West and Drake:

If I smoke a rapper, it's legitimate
It will not be for influence, nor for glory
It will not be "because my shit does not sell" the same
It will not be to sell you my latest Lil sneakers.
It will not be because a nigga has slipped into my path

In December 2018, Kanye shared a series of tweets revealing that Drake was seeking permission for the song produced by Kanye "Say What's Real."

According to Kanye, however, he was still waiting for an apology for Drake to dissent Kanye's Yeezy Boost 350 on the "No Stylist" of French Montana, when the boss of the OVO launched:

Yes, two free seats, we fly at seven o'clock and are packed for the beach
Yeah, it goes on G, I told him "do not wear sportswear around me"

Kanye also claimed that Drake had "discreetly" in Travis Scott's "SICKO MODE":

Duck apparently reached out to Kanye after the first set of tweets, but Kanye still did not want to erase the sample. A few hours later, Kanye would say that Drake had called to threaten him.

As for Cole, he can publish up to four projects in 2019.
