If reporting directly to an eccentric billionaire and getting paid in bitcoin sounds like a cup of tea, does Jack Dorsey have an offer to offer?
On March 20th, the CEOs of Twitter and Square took advantage of the former to announce a new, very specific job offer on the land of cryptocurrency. Specifically, Dorsey wants you to join his personal group of super crypto – saving the world of bitcoin-maximalist an open source contribution at a time.
"Square hires 3 or 4 crypto engineers and 1 designer to work full time on open source contributions to the bitcoin / crypto ecosystem", he wrote. "Work from anywhere, report it directly to me, and we can even pay you in bitcoin!"
#BitcoinTwitter and #CryptoTwitter! Square hires 3 or 4 crypto engineers and 1 designer to work full time on open source contributions to the bitcoin / crypto ecosystem. Work from anywhere, report directly to me, and we can even pay you in bitcoin! Presentation @SqCrypto. Why?

And while Dorsey announces only the new roles at Square today, he is already giving orders. Essentially, he wants his renegade team to make open source tools (and report directly to him).
This will be Square's first open source initiative, independent of our business objectives. These people will focus entirely on what is best for the cryptographic community and individual economic empowerment, not Square's business interests. All work will be open and free.

I love this technology and this community. I found it deeply principled, goal-oriented, pissed off, and … really weird. Just like the beginning of the internet! I am happy to learn more directly.

The fact that the lasered goat-eating CEO wants the success of cryptocurrency should not come as a surprise. The Square Cash app allows users to buy and sell bitcoin, and it has already evoked the need for the Internet to have its own currency, probably one that is not FacebookCoin.
"The Internet deserves a local currency, it will have one," he told the crowd gathered at the 2018 consensus conference, "I do not know if it will be bitcoin or not. I will be a big fan. "
Now, some lucky people have the chance to contribute to the realization of Dorsey's BUIDL dream, while working directly with the bearded man himself. The world of cryptocurrency is really magical.
