Jack Grealish's brilliant response to the twisted Paul Mitchell fan banner

Jack Grealish had the last laugh once again after Birmingham fans unfurled banners supporting jailed football thug Paul Mitchell.

Mitchell, a supporter of Birmingham City, was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison on Monday for playing on the pitch and beating Aston Villa's Grealish in the Second City derby last weekend.

Grealish fully resisted the attack by scoring the winner for Villa against his bitter rivals.

The attack provoked outrage, but some Birmingham fans seem to have supported Mitchell during their meet at the championship at Preston on Saturday.

A banner, allegedly photographed in the outdoor lobby at Preston on Saturday, said "The Freedom of the City, Paul Mitchell," accompanied by a photo of Mitchell represented by King Henry VIII.

Another image was also shown on social media. She showed two children wearing a St. George flag wearing the Birmingham club badge and the title "One Paul Mitchell SOTV" representing "s *** at the villa".

But after Grealish learned about the existence of the banners, he responded brilliantly by posting a photo of him celebrating his winner of the match, arms outstretched.

Grealish was hit on the side of the face by Mitchell in the 1-0 Villa Championship win at St Andrew's.

The 23-year-old fell on the field as steward and Villa players, Glenn Whelan and Tammy Abraham caught Mitchell and dragged him.

A Grealish statement was read in court, stating that the player was "shocked and frightened because if that person was foolhardy enough to enter the field, what else could he do?"

Grealish was hit from behind in the first 10 minutes

Birmingham is pleased with the conviction and said that they would not tolerate such incidents.

"What he did was unacceptable and has no place in football. The club can confirm that Mr. Mitchell is banned from us … for life, "the club said in a statement.

"And he will not have access to tickets to outside games involving the Birmingham City Football Club or tickets bought on his behalf."
