Harper left Real Madrid for Brighton in 2015
Jack Harper scored the end of the match as Malaga returned to the top of the second Spanish division with a win over Lugo.
The 22-year-old Scottish striker, who recently told the BBC that he was not coming out of Real Madrid as a teenager, scored 11 minutes to score three points.
Jose Malagon gave Lugo the lead before Adrian was tied after the break.
Harper's win was his fourth goal of the season for Malaga.
