The pioneer of surf rock, Dick Dale, died this weekend at the age of 81. Tributes to "The King of Surf Guitar" were greeted by fans and musicians. Today, Jack White, a pioneer of modern times in its own right, paid tribute to Dale with a touching message on social media.
"It is sad to hear the death of the incredible guitarist Dick Dale. "I've spent a lot of time learning his huge guitar tablecloths in my bedroom, and I always like to play his" Nitro "song whenever I can," wrote the Detroit blues rocker on Instagram's Instagram account. Third Man Records. "Unfortunately, I have never been able to meet him."

White continued his message by praising Dale's groundbreaking techniques and remembering attending one of his concerts when he was a teenager:
"A unique guitar innovator with his cutting-edge style and dynamism for miles. I remember traveling to Detroit's Pontiac myself to watch him play when I was sixteen. This golden shine backwards, Fender, needs to be hung in a special place. "

Brian Wilson also sent a comforting note to Dale on Twitter: "I am sorry to hear about the pbading of Dick Dale. Dick's guitar had a big influence on us all [in the Beach Boys]and we covered 'Misirlou' on our Surfin 'USA in "63".
In addition, Brian May said that "we all really benefit from his pioneer." Mike Mills of R.E.M., Slash, Rick Springfield and Steve Van Zandt also offered their own tributes.
