Jadon Sancho helps his England World Cup teammate Rhian Brewster enjoy a decisive season as the striker catches up with lost time and aims for fame.
Sancho, winger of Borussia Dortmund, was part of the team that won the FIFA Under-17 World Cup alongside Brewster in 2017.
While Sancho entered the full English squad, and others like Phil Foden and Callum Hudson-Odoi made their Premier League debut, serious injuries hampered Brewster's progress.
But he impressed in pre-season, scoring fourth in three games – a penalty against Dortmund in Friday's US round match – and Sancho said it was a taste of what was going to happen.
"I feel that he can do it. I played with him. I know how good he is. It causes defenders nightmares, "said Sancho.
"He's a great player. I have the impression that he is in the right club, he is developing and he is still very young. It develops and it is essential. Just give it time and patience and you will see. I played a lot with him for England and he scored a lot of goals for us and I helped him out. It's a good thing for us to have someone like him.
