Jake Paul says a future fight against Tommy Fury would be “massive” but incited his British rival by accusing him of not having the qualities of a “real fighter”.
The social media sensation resumes his undefeated professional boxing career when he takes on former UFC Champion Tyron Woodley in Cleveland on Sunday, August 29.
Fury, who makes his US debut against Anthony Taylor on Bill Paul vs. Woodley, believes the YouTuber will “run with his tail between his legs” after a fight.
But Jake Paul said Air sports: “If he can win, it’s a massive fight.
“He comes from a legendary last name and social media – I don’t really know how he got famous. I think he’s done reality shows.
“This could potentially lead to a path where you see Jake Paul versus Tommy Fury.”
Fury has threatened Paul before, saying Air sports: “For every bad thing he said, he’ll get a quick right hand for it.
“I’m going to break every bone in his face.”
But Paul replied, “Looks like someone handed him a script to read: ‘I’m going to break every bone in his face!’
“He has nothing real to say – ‘You crossed the line, mate!’
“It’s not the sixth year. It’s the fighting business, it’s the boxing business.
“He boxes because his dad told him to. He doesn’t have that real heart, that real fighter inside of him.
“He’s doing this because it’s something his brother did. It’s something his father did and he sees it as a way to make money.
“If we ever get in the ring, I’m going to expose it.”
Paul only needed a round to knock out Ben Askren, another UFC veteran, in his most recent fight, while he also stopped NBA star Nate Robinson and its social media rival AnEsonGib.
The 24-year-old now plans to progress to the highest level in the sport.
“I’m just starting to familiarize myself with what I can accomplish and a lot of fighters in my position would have gone on to fight celebrities or YouTubers, or would have done all of that,” said Paul.
“No, I want to become world champion and I am taking the steps to get there.
“As soon as we get these fights signed and delivered, I’m here and ready to fight.
“Tyron has been boxing longer than me.
“Most of the people in my position and most of the professional boxers in my position like Tommy Fury fight guys who have a 0-10 score, or are the garbage guys, they pay to go and go. get knocked out.
“Tommy Fury’s opponent record is around 10-150 losses or 200 losses or something like that.
“I don’t fight guys who are here to lose. I’m the real deal and people will see it.”
