Wigan Athletic have recruited Portsmouth striker Jamal Lowe for an undisclosed amount and Chelsea's back wing, Dujon Sterling, for a loan for the season.
Lowe, 25, signed a three-year contract with the Latics after scoring 30 goals in 119 appearances with Pompey.
Sterling, 19, was loaned last season to Coventry City, where he played 40 appearances with the Sky Blues.
Both players could be part of Paul Cook's team in their first league game against Cardiff on Saturday.
Lowe, who played with Cook in Portsmouth, told the club's website: "It's been long months and there has been a lot of speculation with discussions, but I'm glad it's finally over and I can focus on getting ready for the season.
"There was a bit of relief when the pen came down on paper and also excitement because it's a great opportunity to play in the Championship with a manager who has already trusted me."
