James Wan producing I know what you did the last summer series

James Wan, master of modern horror (Conspiracy) is ready to go behind the camera for the pilot of a series of adaptation of I know what you did last summer, according to the deadline. Although traders say that Wan will be behind the camera, Bloody Disgusting reports that Wan is simply tied up as a producer.

A theatrical restart of the series, inspired by the novel of the same name, had already been announced in 2016 with the writer / director of the succession, Mike Flanagan (The obsession of Hill House) Configured to co-write and direct the project. After languishing for three years, this attempt is now dead in the water. Flanagan even asked Twitter to confirm that he was no longer working there.

The 1997 film version, directed by Jim Gillespie with a screenplay by Kevin Williamson, stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze, Jr. as a group of high school students who accidentally killed and killed a man with their car one night. Although they believe they have succeeded in concealing their crime, the group finds itself at the end of the serial rampage of a slasher killer a year later.

Neal Moritz will produce I know what you did last summer, with the pilot written by Shay Hatten.
