TOKYO (Reuters) – The Tokyo District Court announced Friday that Carlos Ghosn's detention period has been extended by eight days. Prosecutors had until April 22 to sue the former boss of Nissan Motor or let him go.

Ghosn was arrested for the fourth time last week on suspicion of trying to get rich at the expense of Nissan, up to $ 5 million.

He is awaiting trial on other charges, including financial misconduct. Ghosn, who had been released on bail of $ 9 million in early March after spending 108 days in jail, denied any wrongdoing.
