Jealousy pushes Ariana Grande to violence in her video for the new song "Boyfriend"

A collaboration with Social House, who also worked on "Thank U, Next"

Ariana Grande has released a fun video, although violent, for a new sensual song, "Boyfriend", with Social House.

This is Grande's first new music since 'Monopoly', the song she performed with Victoria Monét in April of this year. It's also a collaboration with Social House, the pop duo of Mikey Foster and Scootie Anderson, who has been working on recent songs from Ari, like "Thank U, Next" and "Goodnight n Go" (from his 2018 album , "Sweetener").

In the video directed by Hannah Lux Davis ("Breathin", "Thank U, Next"), Grande and Foster of Social House are jealous when they see each other flirting with strangers at a chic party. Their urge pushes them to violently eliminate their competitors: Big catches a bow and arrow, while Social House shows his kung-fu skills.

The cascades of the video, the pop star revealed in a tweet, were some of his favorite moments of filming. Watch the video "Boyfriend" here:

In the run-up to the premiere of the video, Grande participated in a countdown on Twitter, chatting with her fans on the social media platform. "I have the impression that this song represents a common theme in the lives of so many people I know," she told a fan who had asked her for inspiration behind Track.

"People want to feel love but do not want to define their relationship and find it difficult to fully engage, trust or allow themselves to fully love anyone. Even if they want it, "she added.

Well, I feel this song captures a common theme in the lives of so many people I know! people want to feel love, but do not want to define their relationship and find it difficult to fully engage, trust or allow themselves to fully love anyone. even if they want it. ? https://t.co/28CfLoJseu

Grande revealed that the song spoke only of vulnerability: "We wanted to do something uplifting that translates that feeling of being afraid to make the jump and to have self-confidence, of d?" being afraid of being hurt or feeling like you would not be enough for that person … but also what it feels like to have a crippling crush on someone.

right?

The release of 'Boyfriend' comes just days before Grande enters the scene at Lollapalooza in Chicago. She then began her UK / Europe tour, supported by Ella Mai, with three nights at O2 in London.

"Boyfriend" should gather fans of Grande until the release of the song that she composed with Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey for the new The angels of Charlie movie. You can hear an excerpt from the collaboration in the movie trailer.
