This is one of the first new projects that Lawrence has officially started in recent years. It's also his first franchise-free title since 2018. Red Sparrow. Mob Girl It certainly sounds like a fit back for Lawrence because she has already played in movies based on the lives of real people. (Remember Joy?)

As reported by Variety, Mob Girl is "based on the life of the woman of the crowd turned police informant Arlyne Brickman" and their writing continues by summarizing the plot as follows:

The film follows Brickman who grew up among the racketeers of New York's Lower East Side, where she is drawn to the glamorous and flashy lifestyle of New York's mobsters. Shortly after, she starts going out with "wise men" and doing some shopping for them, before embarking on herself – she ends up becoming a police informant and a major witness in the case of the government against the Colombo crime family.

Lawrence will also serve as producer on Mob Girl next to Justine Polsky through their production company Excellent Cadaver. It will be his first time working with Sorrentino but with the actor and director bringing a strong creative reputation to the table, this should be an interesting couple to watch on the screen. Angelina Burnett (Americans) Will adapt the Carpenter book into a script.
