Jennifer Lawrence is back on familiar territory as she engages for her next project. Lawrence will play in Mob Girl, a film based on the novel Mob Girl by Teresa Carpenter. The young pope director Paolo Sorrentino is on board to direct.

The film follows Brickman who grew up among the racketeers of New York's Lower East Side, where she is drawn to the glamorous and flashy lifestyle of New York's mobsters. Shortly after, she starts going out with "wise men" and doing some shopping for them, before embarking on herself – she ends up becoming a police informant and a major witness in the case of the government against the Colombo crime family.
Lawrence will also serve as producer on Mob Girl next to Justine Polsky through their production company Excellent Cadaver. It will be his first time working with Sorrentino but with the actor and director bringing a strong creative reputation to the table, this should be an interesting couple to watch on the screen.
