Manchester United have offered local midfielder Jesse Lingard a 25% salary increase.
The English international Lingard is currently under contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2021, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wishes to reward him for his impressive form.
Lingard scored five times in 36 appearances in all competitions last season, but he has received rave reviews for his performance despite United's setbacks: he finished sixth in the Premier League.
As a result, officials of the Red Devils have chosen to offer him a salary increase ranging from £ 100,000 to £ 130,000 a week, according to Sun.
Despite this increase, Lingard will still not be among the highest paying players at Old Trafford, with Alexis Sanchez pocketing £ 350,000 a week and Paul Pogba, David De Gea and Romelu Lukaku also topping the list.
Lingard has been at United since the age of seven and played 167 times for the first team after being loaned to Leicester, Birmingham, Brighton and Derby.
United has completed its first summer activity last week as Solskjaer aims to revamp his team.
Daniel James was signed by Swansea for £ 15 million, plus £ 3 million worth of potential.
The Premier League club confirmed: "We are delighted to have reached an agreement in principle with Swansea City for the transfer of Daniel James to MUFC".
United also hopes to add Bruno Fernandes to his ranks, but could miss the goal due to Ed Woodward.
Aged 24, he played for Sporting Lisbon this season, scoring 19 goals in 31 caps and entering the Portuguese national team.
This has aroused the interest of Tottenham and Liverpool, as well as United, but the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer team seems to be about to miss the transfer, due to Woodward's stagnation.
According to the Portuguese point of sale O Jogo Woodward is "hesitant" about the deal and is worried about spending a lot of money on a player who has not yet proven himself at the highest level.
