Joao Moutinho admitted that he was about to join Everton – but he is now satisfied with how his "mission" in the Premier League has been achieved.

The Portuguese international has been surrounded by a lot of rumors linking him to a move to Goodison Park at some point in his career, but he is now working with the Wolves in the Premier League.

Former Everton boss, David Moyes, was renowned for being a big fan of the playmaker, many reporters thinking that he was about to make a move to Merseyside in 2008.

And Moutinho has now admitted that it was true, but also claimed that it was even closer to a move to Tottenham Hotspur four years later.

"It was tight before but it was my mission to play in the Premier League," Moutinho told the Mirror.
