Liverpool and England defender Joe Gomez has resumed training after more than three months of absence after a broken leg.

Gomez, 21, broke his leg during the Premier League game in Burnley on Dec. 5.

"It's good." Joe is no longer injured and almost fit, "said Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

"Joe has been out for 15 weeks, so it's long so he needs to rebuild the basics for the rest of the season."

Gomez, who has won six international caps, has played 18 games in all competitions this season with Liverpool, who ranks first in the Premier League standings with less than two months remaining.

Klopp also said midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who was not appearing this season due to a knee ligament injury suffered last April, may soon resume training.

"We are of course careful," added the German. "He's working, he's doing a lot and I think he'll be training in a week – he'll be fine."

Liverpool will be the next player Sunday to host Tottenham. They will then travel to Southampton on April 5, before the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Porto on April 9 at Anfield.
