Joe Longthorne died at the age of 64.
The singer and artist died this morning surrounded by his family, they said in a statement.
"It is with deep sadness that we must announce that the country's beloved artist, Joe Longthorne MBE, died peacefully in the early hours of the day at his cherished home in Blackpool," they said.
"Joe is dead in his room, lying in the arms of his 21-year-old devoted husband, Jamie with his rosary close to his chest, he is survived by his sister Ann and his brother John, and our most sincere sympathies and condolences go to Jamie and all of us, the family right now sad. "
The showbiz pillar, who became famous in 1981 as a singer and impressionist in the TV show Search For A Star, had planned to perform at several concerts in the coming days, including an appearance at Viva Blackpool Sunday, August 4th.
Joe had already fought cancer several times in his life, including a blood cancer in 1987, which ended with a diagnosis of chronic lymphoma two years later.
The singer continued to work throughout his illness, but had to undergo a bone marrow transplant in 2005, when the lymphoma degenerated into leukemia.
He was then diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 but promised to continue to occur.
Joe was declared bankrupt in 1996 after changing direction two years ago due to "poor financial management".
"I ran into a brick wall where I can not pay my debts," he said at the time.
Before his marriage to Jamie, Joe had a relationship with a woman named Susan, who gave birth to their son Ricky.
Unfortunately, father and son were separated from 17, but reunited in 2009.
More soon.
