The ruling party's general secretary, the new patriotic party, John Boadu, said that although the Inter-party Advisory Committee (IPAC) had not discussed the issue of a new voters' register, they had been informed.

He also agreed that the Electoral Commission (EC) should not have indicated that the new register of electors had been examined at the meeting, whereas this was not the case.

"They should have chosen the register of electors" he said during a round table on Peace FM morning show "Kokrokoo".

Context

A statement issued by the EC after a meeting of the "Inter-party Advisory Committee" (IPAC) said it would create a new register of voters for the 2020 general elections.

However, the NDC issued a statement denying the content of the statement, claiming that the decision to create a new voters register had not been discussed at the IPAC meeting.
