How much can you appreciate a filly like her?
You watch all the time, most coaches are neurotic and I'm probably not an exception. She has a great physique, a wonderful spirit and a great depth. When she first arrived as a yearling, the first thing that surprised me at first was the great depth of her heartbeat. Frankie says that when she stretches in the last part of a run, he feels his legs move when she lowers to go up – few horses have felt that long.
What are its main badets?
As you saw at Sandown, his tactical speed is very important and helps a jockey. When she won at Arc in Chantilly, it is the tactical speed of a very difficult draw which won out. How worried were you before it reappeared in the Coral-Eclipse?

It is only when we took her on a particular gallop that she likes, the round gallop on the Limekilns, that she showed the zest and her old sparkle.
Before that, she was like the heavyweight boxer preparing for a championship and he's been away for several months. He is at the gym and runs on the road. It's difficult mentally to find a good physical shape and I think that's where she was, silently performing her movements. Then, two weeks before Sandown, you saw all his pbadion for racing and training grow. All of a sudden, Frankie literally clung instead of saying "can we go a little faster, darling".
How is she like a filly?

Where is she among the horses you have trained?
The best filly of a mile and a half – she's pretty extraordinary in what she's done. She had a run in Newcastle at the age of two and then what she did at age three was amazing. She won a boxing match at Newbury in a race that was won by another of our chickens in Shutter Speed - but after that, she did everything you could have asked for.
I have much admired for what she did last year after returning from injury. Like any great athlete, it's not an easy thing to do – get back to the top and find her place at the top and she was not at her best in the Bow. Frankie did a great race. He hooked a little longer, knowing that he would not quite have gasoline in the tank that he would normally have and eventually take it and l? take it above the line. Where next for her?
Let's hope we can reach Arc again – there is Ascot and eventually York and ParisLongchamp. This is a great request from any athlete but she is proud and happy in herself right now.
I had trouble getting there last year and she got sick between the September Stakes and the race. She was taken outside for a week – it's not like that you want to go to the bow – a race all the time then suddenly a hiccup. She was very successful in overcoming that.
How did 2019 for her up to now?
It's much more fluid. She did not like the cold winds of spring blowing so we delayed her return. We talked about the Investec Coronation Cup and the Royal Ascot, but I was looking forward to running from July. If you run early, you will need a break in the middle of the season. You look at the French, they leave early then take a break and come back to the Arc, through the tests. You can not expect them to go from one column to another throughout the season, so I'm glad we did not bet it until July.
