John Mikel Obi talks about playing in the World Cup while he knew that his father had been kidnapped for the second time.
Sitting exclusively at Sportsworld of BBC World Service, Nigeria's football captain, John Mikel Obi, admitted to playing in the World Cup match between Group D and Argentina, knowing that his father had been kidnapped for the second time "was heartbreaking".
The former Chelsea midfielder added, "I did not tell anyone, I took it myself and stood firm.
"I went there and nobody knew it, nobody knew it, it was my responsibility. [to captain the team against Argentina]it was my job and I had to do it.
"I sat in my room and thought about it so many times, wondering if I should say anything?"
