Jomoro municipal police commander shoots himself

The Jomoro municipal police commander in the western region, Police Superintendent (SP) Zeprain Zenge, reportedly committed suicide.

The officer committed the act of suicide by shooting himself at his bungalow in Half Assini in the wee hours of Saturday January 30, 2021.

A found suicide note read: “I’m sick of this world.”

West Regional Police Command public relations officer Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Olivia Adiku confirmed the news to Ghana’s news agency in Takoradi.

In the meantime, the remains have been transported for storage at the Effia-Nkwanta regional hospital, pending further investigation.

The late SP Zenge was assigned to Jomoro Municipality as municipal commander in early 2017.

He is from Nandom in the Upper West region and died at the age of 57.

The Jomoro Municipal was his first place of work as a district commander.
