HBO sci-fi western series Westworld is in production in its third season, but will the show extend beyond Season 3? This question is not yet clear, but if so, the creators / animators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy will always be there to steer the ship.
Nolan and Joy have just signed a gigantic nine-digit deal to develop television for Amazon Prime Video, but a new report says they've signed a contract allowing them to continue serving writers and producers executives on Westworld "For several more seasons." The deadline indicates that Nolan and Joy's creative teams have signed a five-year contract in the nine-digit range – at least 100 million dollars total, and THR suggests that it could be as much as $ 150 million – to "create and produce original series that will be broadcast exclusively on Amazon Prime Video worldwide". This contract places them in the top tier with respect to contracts with the television industry, alongside big names such as Shonda Rhimes, Ryan Murphy, Mike Schur and Greg Berlanti.
This is a huge "get" for Amazon, which has shown itself willing to spend a lot of money to stand out at a time when streaming services are spending tons of cash to attract the biggest industry names on their platforms. The basics of this agreement had already been prepared from 2018, when Nolan and Joy reached an agreement to develop a show called The ringroad for Amazon which is based on a novel by William Gibson. Nolan and Joy have issued a joint statement on their new partnership:

As for Westworld, I was really hoping that HBO would finish the series after season 3. Season 2 got bogged down in even more complicated mysteries and I did not think the win was worth it, and the series' audiences fell so much that I am wondering if HBO might be interested in cutting its losses after the third season to come.
Do not forget that the Deadline report does not technically say that Westworld Season 4 has been given the green light, but if it is renewed, Nolan and Joy will be present. Whatever the case may be, the show will undergo a "radical change" in season 3 and they have added Aaron Paul to the cast. come.
