Jordan Henderson has revealed how Liverpool vaporized alcohol-free champagne during their Premier League title celebration to meet Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
The Liverpool captain got his hands on the trophy in July, as Jurgen Klopp’s side celebrated a season to remember, winning the elite title for the first time in 30 years.
But, talking to The temperature Ahead of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year on Sunday for which he is nominated, Henderson revealed that the champagne vaporized that day was non-alcoholic as Salah and Mane are Muslims and hailed the couple’s journey to the top.

“The champagne was alcohol-free with the presentation of the trophies because of Mo and Sadio,” said Henderson.
‘In the locker room, there is none of that [intolerance] so why is this not the case in the outside world?
In September, Essex captain Tom Westley apologized after alcohol was poured on a Muslim player as the team celebrated their Bob Willis Trophy victory.

Meanwhile, Henderson, who started his career at Sunderland before moving to Anfield in 2011, also spoke highly of the diversity in the Reds’ dressing room.
‘I watch Sadio and Mo and where they come from [rural Senegal and Egypt respectively] and what they have accomplished is incredible.
“ When we are in the pool and Sadio is swimming he says he learned because he lived in a village right by the water [the Casamance river in Sedhiou] so he liked to go in the water.
“I look at my journey and I was very lucky, a working class family, but I have never experienced some of the things that they have been through in their life.

Henderson, 30, also said this week that Jack Grealish is his best Premier League player in 2020, on one of his teammates.
The midfielder plays alongside Aston Villa captain internationally with England.
Henderson saw Salah, Mane and Roberto Firmino score 45 combined goals in 2019-20, but the England midfielder snubbed the attacking trio and the rest of his Liverpool teammates to choose Grealish, who helped Villa stay in. the elite last season.
