Jorginho de Chelsea responds to his critics after the loss of the Spurs and identifies what went wrong

Jorginho pointed out the mistake that led to Chelsea's implosion at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium.

After the 3-1 defeat against Mauricio Pochettino's team, the Italian of Brazilian origin was described as critically weak to allow his team to dominate the Blues.

He was involved in every goal scored by his opponents. Dele Alli beat him on a free kick to score the first match. Jorginho tried to rush Christian Eriksen to leave Harry Kane free to score for the second goal.

The Spurs' third goal saw Son Heung-min beat the midfielder in the wing before overtaking David Luiz to end up head-to-head with the goalkeeper to counter his shot.

It was a first defeat for Maurizio Sarri in competitive football since his arrival in Chelsea in the summer.

"Our team has not been as compact as usual," he told ESPN Brazil, translated by Sport Wtiness.

"The first pressure was not made, I think it was not the case. The defensive line has therefore dropped a lot and our team has stretched a lot.

"From the beginning, when did you [Manchester] City in the competition, it's already difficult. But I do not think we have to look forward. We must look today, now, because there is a lot to improve, a lot to change. "

In November, Sarri himself spoke of the problems Chelsea faced after a good start to the season.

"If we want to be competitive and win something, then we have to be a strong team," he said. "We need to improve the cover of the ball in the other half.We must support in half of the opponent. We must immediately cover the lost ball."

Against Tottenham, the intensity of the match is not enough to smother Pochettino's team before it can launch a counterattack, leaving the Blues and their high line exposed.

The Italian has received calls to moderate his approach as a manager, but there is a convincing argument that the Blues must push their tactics to the extreme in order to reap the benefits of their approach, especially against the top six opponents .

The first opportunity for Chelsea to correct the situation will be Thursday against PAOK Thessaloniki in Europa League at Stamford Bridge.
