Jose Mourinho said Manchester City should have sent him a gift after Chelsea's win over Liverpool, earning him the title in 2013/14.
City won its second Premier League title this season despite a seven-point lead over Liverpool after being beaten by the Reds in April.
Liverpool were favorites for the title at this point and their grip on first place only tightened when Man City lost points against Sunderland three days later.
But City's five-game winning streak was enough to overturn the Reds 'lead after Mourinho (Chelsea) defeated Liverpool at Anfield and Brendan Rodgers' men were held 3-3 by Crystal Palace .
Chelsea's victory was not that of Demba Ba's first goal, when Steven Gerrard slipped to allow the Senegalese to score just before half-time. The Blues then went on to win a 2-0 win, ending Liverpool's 11-game winning streak and silencing the title race.
In addition, Mourinho did it with a second team – with Ba, Mark Schwarzer and young Mohamed Salah – as Chelsea prepared for a match-up in the Champions League semifinal with Atletico Madrid the following Wednesday.
With Chelsea's win, it paved the way for City to move on equal points with Liverpool and eventually win the league.
"I was playing in the Champions League semi-finals two days later against Atletico Madrid and I went to Anfield with the players who were not going to play in the Champions League semi-finals." said Mourinho at beIN Sports.
"We had to organize a team to try to get a result and that's what we did. Man City never sent me a gift after this game. They were champions because of this match. "
