The promotional work of José Mourinho brought him to Russia on Monday.

But things went wrong for the former Manchester United coach while he was flying at the initial faceoff.

Mourinho was in Balashikha, near Moscow, as a special guest for a match opposing SKA to Avangard.

Yet, although they rolled out the red carpet – literally – in order to keep him standing, he flew and was helped by the legendary Russian player Pavel Datsyuk.

The hilarious moment was filmed, posted on social media and quickly caught the attention of amused football fans.

Mourinho, who worked for beIN Sports in Qatar last month, was spotted earlier in the day signing photos of his promotional run.

He made a rare public outing to London on the weekend for the 19th birthday of his son, Jose Jr.

He seems to be moving away from the spotlight as he ponders his next management decision, although his problem on the ice will not prevent him from keeping it in the news!

This is not the first incident that Mourinho has experienced this year when it is about standing on the red carpet.

He fell outside Wembley while he was preparing to watch England against Spain in September.
