Jose Mourinho, Manchester United manager, refused to answer when asked if he would be confident for the Premier League title next season without further additions to his team.

United came in second, 19 points behind Manchester City champion and has since signed three players – midfielder Fred, back Diogo Dalot and goalkeeper Lee Grant.

When the question about his team and the next tough season was put to him Tuesday at a press conference in Los Angeles Mourinho replied, "I do not answer your question."

Earlier Tuesday, the Portuguese had been quoted in an interview with ESPN, when he asked them how many new signatures he would like: "I would have two more players."

"One thing is what I would like. United, who will face AC Milan in the third game of their pre-season tour of the United States on Wednesday, currently has a number of players on hold after the World Cup.

At the press conference in Mourinho, some of United's rivals had a situation similar to that of Manchester United

"If you look at the Chelsea and Liverpool players in pre-season, especially those two teams, Arsenal, I think if you compare you see the difference in the situation, Manchester City and Tottenham are in the same situation as us. "

He added:" I am happy with the evolution of the matches [on the tour] but I do not have the players to work.

Manchester United completes Fred's signature

"I do not have the majority of the players that will be in the team on August 9 when the market will be closed and we can make it official for the season, so of course I'm not happy, having just a few players. "

Mourinho also said at the press conference that" the situation is not great "for United in regards to its first two matches of 2018- 1919. Leicester at home on August 10 and Brighton nine days later.

"When I look at Leicester, if I'm not mistaken, only [Harry] Maguire and [Jamie] Vardy were in World Cup, the last phase, because [Kasper] Schmiechel was, but back sooner" , he said.

"I think that a team is working for six weeks minimum, with all the players except a central defender and an attacker who can join last week and probably be available, I think it's clear, a much better situation for them.

"When I look at Brighton, the second game, I do not think they have a player who does not do very good pre-season with a lot of matches and training all together.

"So, of course, against Leicester and Brighton, the situation is not incredible for us, I would say that the third match [against Tottenham at home on August 27] against a team in a situation similar to that of us, I think After three weeks, I'm fine

"But for the first two games, we have to fight for points, because we need points. That's what we will do with the players we have. "

Mourinho also said that he did not know if defender Marcos Rojo would join the team in the United States, having" a physical problem. "
