Former MCU director Joss Whedon faces music after several colleagues on his hit drama series Buffy the Vampire Slayer join arms with DC alum Ray Fisher on the alleged toxicity on the Whedon set.
The multitude of allegations started to snowball after Buffy Actress Charisma Carpenter blamed Whedon for several forms of toxicity, including a heartless remark during her pregnancy as the show continued.
Whedon forced a 1am call time for pregnant carpenter
Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and fallout Angel, tweeted on Wednesday to recount his trauma with showrunner Whedon.
Capturing #IStandWithRayFisher, Carpenter wrote that when Whedon found out she was pregnant, he asked if she was “going to keep her.”
She did, and Whedon allegedly put her on a daily 1:00 a.m. schedule, making her feel Braxton Hicks’ contractions.

Castmates and stuntmen follow suit
This prompted Carpenter’s comrades and stuntmen to start the debate on Whedon’s feminist positions.
Sarah Michelle Gellar aka Buffy soon tweeted neutrally, standing alongside Whedon abuse survivors as she wrote, “I don’t want to be associated with Joss Whedon forever.”
Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn Summers) shared Gellar’s post, adding that Whedon was not allowed to be alone in a room with her, without going into details.
Blame the Snowballs as Writers Call Whedon’s Attitude
Eliza Dushku (Faith), Emma Caulfield (Anya) and J August Richards (Charles Gunn on angel) supported Carpenter on social media.
James Marsters (Spike) shared his encounter on a podcast with Michael Rosenbaum, detailing how Whedon propped him up against a wall, saying, “I don’t care how popular you are, kid, you’re dead.”
Firefly Writer Jose Molina tweeted about Whedon’s fun making writers cry.
Fisher congratulates Carpenter on speaking up
Whedon has remained silent on the allegations and suspiciously left the HBO show Nevers in November 2020.
But Fisher praised Carpenter’s stance, tweeting, “Charisma Carpenter is one of the bravest people I know. I am eternally grateful for her courage and for lending her voice to the Justice League investigation.”
This does not bode well for Whedon, insiders feel.
Whedon’s silence will cost money, industry insiders believe
Eric Schiffer, CEO of Reputation Management Consultants, said the investigations will follow Whedon’s current mark, which is “selfish dumpster fire of toxicity”.
Aware of how he would treat Whedon’s code of conduct if he were his client, Schiffer said: “Being silent in this situation is like acting as a pilot on the Hindenburg, it’s deadly stupid. . He might as well write “guilty” in lipstick. His forehead. ”
