Joy News unveiled the plan for the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council and its regional security liaison office to recruit and train New Patriotic Party (NPP) activists for the 2020 elections.
The activists, who will be called "Election Security Team", should, among other things, keep ballot boxes during elections.
This is contained in a leaked letter purporting to be addressed to the NPP constituency presidents in the Far West region, signed by Capt. Simon Ansu Tengabo Rtd, Liaison Officer for Regional Security.
The letter was addressed to the Regional President of the NPP, Upper West Region, Alhbadaan Suleman, Upper West Region Minister, and to all Upper District and Municipality Chiefs. West.
In the letter, Capt. Tengabo said: "We are grateful to submit a list of security-oriented party members who can be trained as an election security team to closely monitor the 2020 elections, the reopening of the voters in elections up to the statement results. "
Depending on the regional link, the list must include a party leader in the region and 10 others.

"Please carefully select and submit your list of districts / municipalities to the Regional Security Liaison Officer, Regional Coordination Council, Wa, Upper West Region."
Specific phone numbers were included in the letter and the list was expected for February 2019.
The revelation comes just 24 hours after the government sponsored a two-day national security stakeholder forum to discuss the end of political vigilance following the violence.
