WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) – A federal judge, citing an "unprecedented measles epidemic" in Rockland County, a suburb of New York City, has rejected a request to let 44 unvaccinated children return to school.
Parents of students from Green Meadow Waldorf School in Chestnut Ridge sued the County Health Department. They say that none of the children excluded from school have caught measles during the county 's outbreak, which began last fall.
According to the Journal News, their lawyer, Michael Sussman, criticized the judge's decision to refuse a temporary injunction that would have allowed the children to return to clbad.
On the same day, pediatric organizations expressed their support for national legislation allowing minors to be vaccinated without the consent of their parents.

Democratic sponsors of legislation say that too many parents think that unsupported online vaccines are dangerous.
