Police arrested two wizards in Mitooma district, Uganda, for allegedly raping a Kampala International University (KIU) student and stealing 2.9 million shillings from her.
The victim, a student in social work and administration (SWASA), reportedly went to the wizarding sanctuary to ask for a spell to prevent her boyfriend from dating another girl.
Greater Bushenyi Regional Police spokesperson Martial Tumusiime identifies the suspects as Nazario Bazarwa, 72, and his assistant, David Bamwetaki, all residents of Kashenshero sub-county, Nyantoma parish, district of Mitooma.
The police spokesperson said the two men told the student to stay overnight in the sanctuary and that the drugs would be administered in her private area the next morning.
However, during the night, the duo reportedly turned on the girl and raped her.
Tumusiime says the two have been charged with rape and obtaining money under false pretenses and the case is already in the prosecutor’s office.
