Jupp Heynckes cursed his Real Madrid team of 1998 (literally); the consequences of Bayern Munich against Hertha Berlin; and more!

A week before Real Madrid won the Champions League final in 1998, Jupp Heynckes was working a little "in blue" to describe his feelings for the team. The team's president, the legendary coach, explained to the team's president why he could not work with the team and described some of the players in an unflattering light. This is how Sanz described the incident:

One week before playing Juventus, I called Jupp and asked him how he was doing. He told me he was deflated and would not work with the team. I asked him how he could not work with the team and I told him he would have left me deflated. Then I had to meet seven or eight of the most important players and tell them that Jupp thought he could not work with them, that they were sons of whores and that he could not win with them.

If it's not vintage Jupp, nothing is.

Bayern Munich defeated yesterday to win an extremely difficult victory against the very powerful Hertha Berlin. Here are some quick hitters on the match:

• Jerome Boateng was fantastic. It was great to see such a quality effort from him.

• Ditto Javi Martinez, who is experiencing a recent upsurge and proves that he has something to offer the group in the far right.
• David Alaba's efforts have also been great.
• The precarious handle of Niko Kovac's alignment (or management of his players) is being tested. Kovac gets good results, but does not necessarily make it sustainable at this stage.
• Kovac leaving Thomas Muller mired on the bench has serious consequences for the offense. Certainly, Muller will miss the next match against Liverpool, but he should absolutely have more time on the field than he was recently. It is no coincidence that Robert Lewandowski's production is also approaching collapse. Kovac needs to understand some things.
• The Bayern offensive seems again out of sync. There have been periods of this type of play throughout the season, but nothing in the team's game in the last third is smooth at the moment.
• If Joshua Kimmich was against Liverpool, he had difficulties yesterday. A day off would probably help him a little because he has one of the biggest workloads on his team.
• Niklas Stark, of Hertha Berlin, had a phenomenal game and was apparently all over the field stopping several times at Bayern. This performance did not go unnoticed.

• Overall, Hertha Berlin is a very strong team. Die Alte Dame Last year, she made great progress and should be considered a team in full swing.

It has been a couple of hectic days. Of course, Bayern has abandoned Hertha Berlin as mentioned above, but these "not so great" things have also happened:

• Kingsley Coman is again injured.
• Rafinha publicized her bitterness and perceived a lack of respect on the part of Kovac.
• Doubt seems to infiltrate the quality of former Vancouver Whitecaps player, Alphonso Davies.
