Jordan Henderson has played a more active role in Liverpool's last two games.

The introduction of Fabinho into the starting lineup saw the Reds skipper land on the bench and score against Southampton last Friday.

He again impressed the success of the Champions League on Tuesday against Porto after being reintroduced into the starting lineup.

Manager Jurgen Klopp praised the "brilliant" English international after his recent performances.

He also apologized for not using Henderson in the right position during last season and a half after seeing his value in a more offensive spot.

"Hendo is a brilliant player," Klopp said.

"I'm really happy that he can show it again.

"He obviously likes the job, we have not been using it for a year and a half.

"Sorry about that!

"But we needed him there, a very good performance with brilliant pbades."

Klopp came off the bench to score against Southampton last week

Henderson scored for the first time this season against Southampton.

The 28-year-old had the same stats at the end of last year, a goal and an badist, having been a crucial part of the Klopp team.

But he played a more offensive role in the past at Anfield, scoring six goals and 10 badists in the 2014/15 campaign.
