Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hinted that Adam Lallana would be out of the cold to extend play time next season.
The 31-year-old played only 16 appearances in all competitions last season, but Klopp could give him a new lease of life.
The German boss has used the former Southampton player in a central role in the middle of the field, until now in the pre-season, and hinted that he would gain more time playing in this post when the new season begins.
Despite his remoteness, Klopp hailed Lallana as an "incredible" footballer and insisted that he still had much more to offer to Anfield since he seemed to rule out a possible exit.
"You see the sessions here, what a footballer he is, it's amazing," Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com.
"It always feels like people are saying," He was hurt, he was hurt "- yes, but for now, he is not. There is, for example, Ilkay Gundogan, who has been seriously injured twice or three, and who has been playing for one or two years now without any injuries.
"So, no pressure, no rush, build, really fitness, work with the experience you've gained in situations. And everything will be fine.
"From the point of view of football, there is absolutely no doubt about Adam.

"When he plays a slightly different position, he appreciates it. He is not now in position 6; we have players who have played in this position and played it very well.
"But Adam is a midfielder and an exceptional player, you are always trying to find the best position in the field and in some matches, it is possible that the best position for Adam Lallana is # 6. very dominant game, by the way, but he can play that.
That's why we do it, using the pre-season for small experiments. That's all. "
