Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool boss says he's not in need of help after Manchester City's start

Liverpool had five points ahead of Manchester City at the end of January

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he needed no help after Manchester City grabbed his lead in the Premier League standings.

City claimed a head start on the goal difference by beating Everton on Wednesday, after the Reds, who have a game in hand, had draws back-to-back.

Liverpool will be able to regain first place against Bournemouth on Saturday before City faces Chelsea on Sunday.

"I did not read it, I did not look at it and I still know it," Klopp said.

"You feel it, with the questions that are put to you, the messages that I even get from my friends – something has changed in an obvious way to them.

"I received a message this week, another sign that people think I need help – I do not need help, thanks a lot, that's go."

Following the sudden defeat of City by Newcastle last month, Liverpool missed the opportunity to score seven points ahead of the draw against Leicester before a new stalemate with West Ham after the team Pep Guardiola defeated Arsenal.

"It was pretty predictable, and if you want to be top of the league and champion at the end of the season, you have to show yourself in situations such as true pbadion, true desire, you have to fight," added Klopp.

"The only tool we really have to solve our situation is football, a pbadion, an appropriate fight, an aggressive attitude in the most legal way.

"We now have the next chance to do better and I know we will be ready, with every fiber of our body, to fight for everything."
