Jurgen Klopp releases an update on the duo's key injuries ahead of the Champions League final

Jurgen Klopp has published updates on the injuries of Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino before the Champions League final.

Keita was injured by a high-level adductor in the first leg of the semi-final against Barcelona. The initial reports suggest that he should face two months late.

Mr Klopp admits, however, that the progress made by Guineans has been faster than expected – giving him a chance to be in shape for his country 's Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

However, the European final against the Spurs should be too fast for the midfielder.

"Naby is, I would say, a little ahead of schedule, but that does not mean anything for the final," Klopp said.

Keita was injured in Camp Nou

"He is now doing straight races and everything else, he feels comfortable with a 50% intensity and so on – but there is still a lot to do.

"I know the problems with Guinea and that sort of thing. we do not want to exclude a player if he can play – maybe they think it's like that, but it's not like that.

"For me, it would be good for Naby to be 100% fit and able to play the Africa Cup of Nations, to be 100% honest.

"But we do not know, we will see and we have to collaborate with their medical service, because in the end, a fit player – from my point of view – who can play must play for his country.

"If he's not fit at 100%, he can not play. It's like that. It does not matter if you play for your country or club.

Firmino is back in complete training

"That's what we try to be sure, it's beautiful, very positive and we'll see if there's a chance."

Firmino, who has missed Liverpool's last three games with a muscular problem, is now back in full training before the trip to Madrid.

"Bobby looks really good [and] it's now part of the training, "said the boss on Wednesday. "It was not too long, but of course we are always careful and want to make sure nothing happens.

"We still have a few days and we want to use them, that's why he's in, out, in, out. Yesterday, he only played as a "joker" [in the small-sided games] but it's good for him, the first step to play football again.

"Today, he participated in about 70% of the session. Tomorrow it will probably be completely up, we'll see, so hopefully it'll be fine. "
