Jurgen Klopp said Liverpool were preparing for the Champions League match against Bayern Munich at Anfield next week without Dejan Lovren. It is therefore possible that the central defender faces the German champions.
Lovren has no longer played since he's hamstring injury at the start of Wolves' defeat in the England Cup on Jan. 7, when he was replaced by teenager Ki-Jana Hoever.
With Joe Gomez out for another month with a fractured leg and Virgil van Dijk suspended for the home game against Bayern, Joel Matip could then be Fabinho's partner at the heart of the defense against Robert Lewandowski and his company.
"I do not want to rule it out, but I can not really plan with it," Klopp told the Liverpool official website since the Reds' training camp in Spain.
"He's not here for good reason because he can not participate in the training. We are back on Friday. Then, from Saturday, Dejan will be back in Melwood and we'll see.
"But, of course, we have to prepare it differently. If Dejan gives a sign Monday "I feel great", we will have to think again.
"But by the time we prepare the game and in this preparation, Dejan is not involved. We must find other solutions. "
Klopp however had better news, Gini Wijnaldum joining the training for the first time in Marbella.
The Dutchman pulled himself together and took part in the 3-0 win against Bournemouth last weekend, but suffered from his performance.
"Gini has not trained yet, it's of course not cool after a very intense game for him," Klopp said.
"So he had a little dip, but he will start today, that's good."
