Jurgen Klopp takes stock of Dejan Lovren's injuries before Manchester United tries

Dejan Lovren should be excluded for the clash of the Premier League between Liverpool and Manchester United.

The center-back was not part of Jurgen Klopp's squad to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League Tuesday night after being sidelined following a thigh injury.

It seemed that the Reds were facing a race against the clock to prepare the Croatians for the European match tonight, after five minutes of play against the Wolves in the England Cup, but he did not succeed and Klopp confirmed that it does not appear that he will be available for the clash at Old Trafford this weekend.

"To be honest, there was not much doubt," Klopp said.

"It was not serious, but Dejan had no chance to play today, in fact, I do not think he even has a chance to play." He will take his time .

"It was clear that Fabinho and Joel had to play tonight, so we coached him – we tried everything – and now, let's hope the boys are ready."

Fabinho was replaced by Virgil van Dijk, suspended, for the game tonight.

As expected, Dejan Lovren is absent due to injury so it is Fabinho alongside Joel Matip in defense.
